Eiffel Tower, Buiding the Impossible

Image

90 min documentary directed by Pascal Cuissot produced by Patrice Gellé for Bleu Kobalt Productions (France 5, 2023)

For the Universal Exhibition of 1889, Gustave Eiffel decided to attempt the impossible: build the tallest tower in the world. But the Eiffel Tower would never have existed without his previous projects.

This pioneer and visionary has in fact created more than 300 metal structures all over the world: viaducts, bridges, stations, factories and the metal structure of the Statue of Liberty – a race for innovation which allowed him to build faster and higher.

This documentary offers complete immersion in this extraordinary technical and architectural adventure, and traces the rise of a man at the heart of the industrial revolution.
